Designing the 2022 Jessup International Competition Poster

White & Case engaged Knox Design Strategy to design the poster for the 2022 International Law Students Association (ILSA) Jessup Competition, an international moot court competition (the world’s largest) with participants from 700 law schools in 100 countries and jurisdictions.

Each year the ILSA team crafts a new Problem, a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations. Each Problem involves an entirely fictional set of nations, people, actions and legal issues, and is released to participants in advance.

The Goal

The goal of the poster design – the central piece driving Jessup Cup’s marketing, social media, and other communications – is to bring this story and legal conflict to life, and to represent the important elements and figures of the Problem while creating an engaging visual design that generates excitement for the program’s participants.

This year’s Problem deals with the usage of social media, international botnet activity, protest, religious persecution, and other intertwined, complex issues centered around a political university professor.
