Knox Design Strategy is seeking a full-time UX/UI Director (Contract position) with 7+ years of experience to spearhead strategic UX/UI design solutions that meet the unique needs of law firms and law firm-adjacent clients. The ideal candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the legal industry, or a related professional services domain, with a demonstrated willingness and aptitude for rapidly becoming an SME in the legal sector.
As UX/UI Director, you will manage and grow our UX/UI team, collaborate with clients and cross-functional partners, and deliver innovative, user-centered digital experiences that drive business success.
User Experience, User Interface Design, and Product Strategy (50%): Your primary focus will be crafting compelling, user-centered digital solutions tailored to the unique needs of our clients and their users. You’ll also be responsible for developing creative concepts for client presentation and approval.
Leadership, Staff Management and Art Direction (25%): You’ll supervise and mentor the UX/UI team, reviewing and approving all work created; managing strategic partners (developers, SEO consultants, etc.) to ensure work is completed to specification, on time and on budget.
Client and Project Management (25%): Managing individual project timelines and ensuring client approvals will be vital to your role, ensuring responsiveness and maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating leadership on complex digital products.
Proven expertise in user-centered design practices, design systems, prototyping, usability testing, and accessibility.
Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and related design tools. Experience with interactive prototyping tools and proficiency with collaborative platforms used for design review and project coordination is required.
Strong portfolio representing strengths in interaction design, information architecture, visual design principles, and typography.
Hands-on experience conducting user research and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data.
Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience managing and mentoring design teams and coordinating with cross-functional partners.
Understanding of product design and development methodologies (Agile/Scrum preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
