Designing an Attorney Business Development Planning Application

Client: AmLaw 100 Law Firm


Knox Design Strategy was enlisted to collaborate with the firm’s Knowledge Management and IT teams to redesign an internal application to collect and house individual attorney contributions and business development activities.

We first met with Knowledge Management to uncover user grievances, priorities for redesign and timeline. We then presented two visual redesign options that could be implemented within the current structure of the site so as not to require major redevelopment. During the conceptual phase, we provided a series of user flows and click-thrus to simulate the application prior to final concept selection to ensure we were on the right track.

Working Within Constraints

Only the area that was most problematic was prioritized due to budget and time constraints. Our UX / UI solutions had to therefore work within the current structure of the site. We presented two different directions to address the usability issues along with simple user flows and click-thrus to better communicate our directions.
